About this course

Skills Lab’s ESG Micro-credential helps organisations to build the skills necessary to drive practical and meaningful change.

The ESG Micro-credential equips participants with an understanding of ESG principles and strategies, enabling them to effectively integrate environmental, social, and governance considerations into their organisation(s).

With growing stakeholder expectations, regulatory requirements, and the potential impact on organisational reputation and performance, there is an increasing and critical need for organisations to embrace ESG principles.

This course provides a tailored and practical approach for Australian professionals to initiate, implement, and communicate ESG initiatives within their organisations.

Module 1: Understanding ESG Principles

• Foundational reading and research, exploring what ESG is and why it is important
• ESG in a global context: UN Sustainable Development Goals
• ESG in the Australian context: overview of Australian laws and regulations
• ESG in a business context: strategic planning and stakeholder management for industry-specific challenges. 

Module 2: Preparing to Implement Change

• ESG integration into business strategy
• Identifying, mapping and assessing ESG best practices. 
  
  

Module 3: Plan and Review Implementing ESG Practices

• ESG reporting frameworks
• Communication strategies, stakeholder engagement, and case studies.
• Monitoring ESG performance

Delivery options

Skills Lab will deliver the training cyber-physically (remotely) in six sessions, spread over four weeks.

The training is delivered in real-time through a virtual face-to-face setting. Participants complete the course as though they were sitting together in a training facility, without the need to physically attend the location.
